Officer, Graduate
Degree Qualified candidates will become FLGOFF upon joining the Air Force and receive $1,830 per fortnight ($47,702 per year).*
Non-degree Qualified candidates will become PLTOFF upon joining the Air Force and receive $1,718 per fortnight ($44,790 per year).*
In addition to your base salary, Service Allowance at the rate of $409 per fortnight ($10,672 per year) is paid once you have completed Military and Employment training to compensate for the unique requirements that service life may impose on you or your family.
To assist you in maintaining your uniforms in good order and condition, you will also receive a Uniform Allowance of $26 per fortnight ($682 per year).
Your salary will continue to increase based on your rank and the number of years of service completed in that rank. Your Pay Grade may increase following the acquisition of additional skills and completion of further training. Refer to the Salary Scales for further details.

Australian Defence Force Academy
First year of training: $21,146 per year ($811 per fortnight).*
Second year of training: $25,213 per year ($967 per fortnight).*
Third year of training: $31,719 per year ($1,217 per fortnight).*
Fourth year of training: $33,753 per year ($1,295 per fortnight).*
Salary (excluding allowances) on completion of employment training will be:
$47,702 per year ($1,830 per fortnight).*

Trainees with dependants may be entitled to Trainee's Dependant Allowance which is paid to enable trainees with dependants to receive a salary not less than $1,406 per fortnight ($36,658 per year) while training. Conditions apply. Speak to your Careers Counsellor for details.

Undergraduate
4 years to graduation: $21,146 per year ($811 per fortnight).*

Uniform Maintenance Allowance at a rate of $419 per annum ($16 per fortnight) is paid to assist members to maintain an approved scale of uniforms in good order and condition. This increases to $682 per annum ($26 per fortnight) after commissioning.
Salary after completion of undergraduate sponsorship will continue to increase based on rank and the number of years of service completed in that rank. Refer to the Salary Scales for further details.

Officer (Reserve)
Members of the Reserve on part-time service are paid at a daily rate of pay which is tax-free.
While undergoing Initial Officer Training non-degree qualified trainees receive $75.60 a day and degree qualified trainees receive $80.45.
Daily rates of pay for commissioned Reserve Force Officers commence at $122.71 for non-degree qualified officers and degree qualified officers commence at $130.69.
In addition to your salary, a Service Allowance of $11.01 per day is payable to compensate for the unique demands of Reserve Service.
