Direct Entrant (Confirmed). On completion of recruit training the member is posted to a field unit as an AC Aircraft Spray Painter. Once in the field a further 12 months employment as an AC Aircraft Spray Painter is required before the member is eligible for reclassification to Leading Aircraftsman (LAC) / Leading Aircraftswoman (LACW).
Provisional Entrant (Provisional). On completion of recruit training and as an AC / ACW Aircraft Spray Painter (Provisional) you will be posted to No. 3 Squadron at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW to undertake your Initial Employment Training. This training is designed for qualified automotive spray painters to become competent Aircraft Spray Painters. It provides theoretical and practical On-the-Job Training (OJT) in Aircraft Spray Painting and is conducted as a self-paced course that can be completed in 15 to 35 weeks. On completion of OJT you must complete a further 12 months employment as an AC / ACW Aircraft Spray Painter to be eligible for reclassification to LAC / LACW.
