Other Ranks (Non Technical)
Following completion of the Basic Clerk Course, a trainee will graduate as an aircraftman/aircraftwoman (AC/ACW) Clerk Grade 1 (CLK1). During the first twelve months of employment, the CLK1 will participate in a consolidation training program by completing both on-the-job and workbook based training under the supervision of Senior Non Commissioned Officers.
Twelve months after completion of the Basic Clerk Course, and subject to successful completion of the consolidation program, and satisfactory performance, the AC/ACW CLK will be promoted to the rank of Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman (LAC/LACW).
After promotion to LAC/LACW members of the CLK mustering will complete further on-the-job training and workbook based learning in the form of the CLK Advanced Course. Completion of the CLK Advanced Course qualifies the CLK1 to be re-graded to CLK2, and is a pre-requisite for consideration for promotion to Corporal rank.
Clerks are remunerated on rank and skill levels based on Nationally accredited levels of competency, the pay grades are as follows:
- Clerk Grade 1 - Pay Grade 2;
- Clerk Grade 2 - Pay Grade 3; and
- Clerk Grade 3 - Pay Grade 4.
