Defence CIS Operator Course - 32 Weeks

The Defence CIS Operator Course is undertaken at the Air-Ground Training Wing of the Defence Force School of Signals, Simpson Barracks, Macleod, VIC. Training comprises:

(1) Communications and information systems in the Air Force,

(2) Keyboard skills training to a minimum of 35 wpm,

(3) Personal and general security procedures,

(4) Personal computer operations and maintenance,

(5) Strategic communications procedures,

(6) Radio telephony procedures, and

(7) Network operating systems basics.

The majority of jobs in the ADF are available as Full Time positions, many are also available as Part Time or Reserve positions. A select number of jobs are available through the Gap Year program.
