Introduction to Defence Intelligence Course - 3 weeks

Defence Imagery Analyst Course - 16 Weeks

GIA trainees will undergo the 3 week Introduction to Defence Intelligence Course during which they receive theory and practical instruction in intelligence processes, and the intelligence organisation and environment. This is followed by the 16 week Defence Imagery Analyst Course which trains them to produce imagery intelligence. Both courses are conducted at the Defence Intelligence Training Centre, Kokoda Barracks, Canungra, QLD.

Overall, students receive training in the theory, analytical and practical skills that will enable them to graduate being capable of performing a variety of tasks within the Defence intelligence community as analysts.

The majority of jobs in the ADF are available as Full Time positions, many are also available as Part Time or Reserve positions. A select number of jobs are available through the Gap Year program.
