Aviation Medical Officers Course - 5 Weeks
During your first posting you will also undergo training in trauma management, aeromedical evacuation, operational health support and occupational medicine. Some RAAF Medical Officers will be selected for overseas training or exchange posts.

Participation in the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program is strongly encouraged. Applicants should aim for entry to the AGPT in their second postgraduate year and complete one Basic Term prior to first posting as an Air Force Medical Officer. Those who do not enter the AGPT during their residency are encouraged to complete a three month term in general practice under the Prevocational General Practice Placements Program.

RAAFSR (MED) officers will be required to undertake the Reserve Medical Officers Initial Course and may be eligible for selection to undertake the the Aeromedical Evacuation, Operational Health Support and other specialty related courses.
