A challenging role performing a variety of duties in an environment responsible for the provision of airfield services, for efficient and effective movement of personnel and materiel. This role could see you just about anywhere in Australia or overseas.

- Receipt, storage and issue of bulk fuel;
- Air terminal operations which involves the movement of passengers and cargo on Air Force or visiting aircraft;
- Driving standard Service vehicles (and special purpose vehicles after appropriate training);
- Operating forklifts in the loading and unloading of transport vehicles and aircraft;
- Refuelling Air Force and visiting aircraft;
- Runway sweeper operations; and
Driver training and testing.
Movements personnel are required to work in varying environmental conditions. This may include extremes in temperature, noise hazards and aircraft fumes when loading and unloading aircraft, refuelling, or operating in the non-technical duty crew role. Shiftwork is frequently involved in air terminal operations and aircraft refuelling duties.
Movements personnel are provided with specialist training prior to undertaking air terminal operations, aircraft refuelling, motor transport operations, and handling of dangerous goods and explosive ordnance.
Movements personnel in the Royal Australian Air Force Active Reserve (RAAFAR) are trained in preparation for their contingency role in one of the Air Force's operational units. These units may include expeditionary and in-situ combat support squadrons, higher command headquarters, flying squadrons and support units.
Movements personnel in the RAAFAR perform the same roles as their full time colleagues.
