Further Training

Officer (Reserve)

To meet the requirements of each Force Element Group (FEG), OPSOs will undergo additional conversion training and endorsement in specialist areas. Specialist competencies are developed to meet FEG specific operations. The completion of FEG specific specialist training is a mandatory requirement for OPSO employment and career advancement. Formal FEG specific training is undertaken at the Reserve squadrons and is usually completed within two weeks.

Other training required includes:

  • Introduction to Motor Transport Operations and other designated transport courses;
  • Introduction to Joint Warfare Course;
  • Air Command Support System modules;
  • Operations Law Course; and
  • Theatre battle Management Core module.

The majority of jobs in the ADF are available as Full Time positions, many are also available as Part Time or Reserve positions. A select number of jobs are available through the Gap Year program.
