Job Details

Officer, Australian Defence Force Academy

Young men and women contemplating a vocation as a Pilot can look forward, after qualifying, to years of exciting and challenging flying in modern aircraft. By qualifying as aircrew, young officers stand at the threshold of a vocation, which is both satisfying to the individual and useful to our nation.

If you are selected for aircrew training you will be trained to become an efficient and disciplined member of a team. This training will also develop your personal qualities of leadership, integrity and reliability. Flying training in the Air Force, therefore, not only produces trained pilots but also enhances personal development and officer qualities.

Note: There are two means of completing Pilot training in the Air Force. Applicants can complete degree studies through the Australian Defence Force Academy before undertaking Pilot training. Alternatively, an applicant can commence Pilot training immediately after completing Year 12 at Secondary School. This is referred to as Non-Graduate or Direct Entry.
