Education Requirements
Unqualified Entry
All unqualified candidates are required to have successfully passed Year 10 level of secondary education (including English and Mathematics).
Note: Consumer Maths, General Maths, Mathematics (General Mathematics) and similarly 'modified' Maths subjects are not suitable for this job,
or
If you do not satisfy the education requirements for this trade or do not possess evidence of your educational attainment there is an alternative pathway available to you.
You may sit an Alternative Education Equivalency (AEE) Assessment to ascertain your ability at the required educational level for this trade.

Qualified Entry
Direct entry (qualified) to the Plant Operator mustering requires the candidate to hold:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations); and
- Work Cover Licences (Plant Operator) - Licences for appropriate Plant machinery;
- dated equivalent - Department of Labour and Industry (DLI) Licence recently converted to Work Cover Licence.
Applicants applying for qualified entry must provide original documents of their education, trade certificates, units of competency results and a current resume to their Careers Counsellor. These documents will then be forwarded to the Recruiting Liaison Officer (RLO-1) at Directorate of Personnel Capability Management -Air Force for review by the Air Force job sponsor to establish eligibility for qualified enlistment.
