The role of the Royal Australian Army Pay Corps (RAAPC) is to provide financial advice to the Army. In fulfilling this role, the RAAPC officer is responsible for:
The provision of advice to commanders in the area of financial management of Public Moneys.
The preparation of budgets, financial statements, cash flow analysis, accrual accounting, costings and financial analysis.
The development and implementation of financial management systems.
Deploying as a Financial Adviser on Exercises and United Nations and other overseas military operations.
The training and development of personnel for employment in Field Cash Offices.
The provision of advice and assistance to units in the areas of Non Public Moneys accounting, including liaison and training.
The audit of Non Public Moneys Accounts and the conduct of fraud investigations.
The provision of advice and assistance to units and members in the areas of pay and allowances.
An RAAPC Officer can expect to be employed as a Financial Officer in units or as a Financial Advisor on a Brigade Headquarters, as an Officer Commanding a Financial Unit, as a staff Officer on a senior Headquarters or as a Training Officer at a Training Establishment.
