The Artillery Command Systems Operator is a soldier who operates computer equipment connected to digital and analogue communications equipment for Offensive Support Artillery operations supporting Australian and Coalition forces. He also uses Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) systems and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) to assist the Guns with their survey.
This soldier forms an integral part of the Artillery Units Command, Control and Communications team. In the performance of his duties, this soldier will input data into the Gunnery Computer System to produce firing solutions for Fire Missions, record target data, co-ordinate airspace and ground clearances and apply target prosecution procedures. He also receives and disseminates battlespace intelligence data from Unmanned Aerial Systems, Artillery Radars and Surveillance teams.
