Employment Training

Officer (Reserve)

Regimental Officer Basic Course (ROBC) Gap training

To qualify as an ADF Investigator you will need to undertake gap training, if required, for those Military Police Officer competencies that are essential to your full employment in this job.

This process commences with the formal recognition and recording of your current competencies from your qualifications, previously attained learning outcomes and work or general experience.

The Military Police Officer ROBC has three modules being:

  • Part A = General Duties and Operational Safety;
  • Part B = Operations; and
  • Part C = Investigations.

This process is completed at the Defence Police Training Centre (DPTC), Lamia Barracks, located at Holsworthy NSW. In order to have your current skills and knowledge assessed you will need to provide all supporting evidence, certified as a true copy, and show where and how this supports your claim for exemption from training. After the recognition process is complete, the DPTC will negotiate an individual learning program with you to facilitate your achievement of the full Military Police Officer qualification.

There may also be some additional requirements for training through external organisations but this will be arranged by the Army should the need arise.
