Dental Assistants Course: 12 Weeks
Recruit Training is followed by a 12 week Dental Assistants Course conducted at HMAS CERBERUS Westernport Victoria.
Other Ranks (Non Technical) (Reserve)
Qualified Entry Dental Assistant Course : 4 weeks
Following graduation from Military Training, trainees undertake a four week Dental Assistant Qualified Entry course at the ADF Dental School, HMAS CERBERUS, Westernport Victoria.
The course concentrates on service administration and infection control procedures. Trainees will also complete a skills assessment to ensure their Competencies/Qualifications are current. On completion of the course, members will be posted to their new establishments with the rank of Private.
Note: Once a Private, soldiers are able to continue training to Warrant Officer Class 2 as a Dental Assistant however, they are not able to elect the Dental Hygienist stream due to the training time and Competency Log Book requirements.
