Other Ranks (Non Technical), ADF Gap Year
Basic Driver Training Course
Location: Road Transport Wing, Army Logistic Training Centre, Puckapunyal, VIC (Landrover and Unimog qualification).
Duration: 42 Days (excluding weekends).
Note: When attending the Basic Drivers Course there is no requirement to hold a civilian licence. However, if the applicant is currently under a suspension or has their civilian licence cancelled, that applicant is not eligible to undertake driver training until that suspension or cancellation has expired.
Other Ranks (Non Technical) (Reserve)
There are two options available for the completion of training:
1. 42 Days continuous (as per Full-time Entry) at the Road Transport Wing, Army Logistic Training Centre, Puckapunyal, VIC (Land Rover and Unimog qualification); or
2. 16 Days continuous at the Road Transport Wing, Army Logistic Training Centre, Puckapunyal, VIC or continuous/non-continuous regionally (Land Rover qualification only). Followed by another 16 day Unimog Course and an 11 day RACT Dangerous Goods, Night Fighting - Driver and Tactical Operations Course.
Note: If Part-Time participants attend the 42 day continuous course, there is no requirement to hold a civilian licence. If the 16 day course is selected it is desirable that participants hold an unrestricted manual drivers licence.
