Employment Location
RAAMC units are configured to provide support to the Army, Navy and Air Force on the battlefield and in that area behind the battlefield known as the Australian Support Area. The Corps has about 182 officers (including the GSO noted above) and 870 other ranks. Major units of the RAAMC include:
- 1 Health Support Battalion, located at Holsworthy, NSW;
- 2 Health Support Battalion, located at Enoggera, QLD;
- Army Logistic Training Centre, located at Albury, NSW
- 1st Parachute Surgical Team, located at Ingleburn, NSW
- 3rd Combat Services Support Battalion, located at Townsville, QLD
- 6th Combat Services Support Battalion, located at Brisbane, QLD
- Medical Centres, located at Kapooka, NSW, Bandiana, NSW and Canberra, ACT; and
- Army Malaria Research Unit, located at Enoggera, QLD.
