Qualified, Other Ranks (Technical) (Reserve)
Applicants must have completed a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication or equivalent in one of the following trade qualifications:
- Trade Certificate as Welder 1st Class;
- Boilermaker Marker Off;
- Boilermaker Welder;
- Certificate III Sheet Metal Worker; or
- Any other metal associated trade that fulfills employment requirements as certified by the Employment Category Manager.

Army Reserve Traineeship & Apprenticeship Program
For Trainee Entry: Completion of Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English, Mathematics, Science and one other subject.
These entry qualifications are the minimum required to facilitate understanding of the engineering principles encountered during later phases of training.
Note: Consumer Maths, Maths in Society and similarly 'modified' maths are not suitable subjects for entry to the Army Technical and Trade Scheme,

If you do not satisfy the education requirements for this trade or do not possess evidence of your educational attainment there is an alternative pathway available to you.
You may be eligible to sit an Alternative Education Equivalency (AEE) assessment to ascertain your ability at the required educational level for this trade.
