The Multimedia Technician is a soldier in the Royal Australian Engineers. The Multimedia Technician is a soldier skilled in the layout and design of multimedia presentations and products, and with the associated skills, techniques and procedures related to the provision of visual communication in support of operations and training.
As a corps, soldiers of the Royal Australian Engineers are known as 'Sappers' and are responsible for assisting our own forces to move whilst also denying mobility to the enemy. Sappers are trained in a broad range of tasks including bridge-building, clearing minefields, demolitions, field defences, building, road and airfield construction and repair, emergency response and geomatic and multimedia support.
Multimedia Technicians (MMT) usually function individually or as part of a small team, to provide units with the support required to produce multimedia products including briefings, presentations, web based products, web pages, Psyops products and posters in addition to artwork for publications, imagery and animation for CD ROM, DVD and video production and still photography.

- Design and Layout Multimedia Products;
- Operate a Computer;
- Operate Photographic Equipment;
- Employ Images for Multimedia;
- Produce Multimedia Presentations;
- Produce Interactive Media; and
- Plan and Manage Multimedia Tasks.
