Medical & Fitness Requirements

To be enlisted or appointed, you must be medically and physically fit for entry to your chosen occupation. This is partially assessed from the completion of an extensive questionnaire covering your medical history, followed by a physical examination.

You will also be required to successfully pass a physical fitness test before enlistment.

Note: Parachute Rigger trainees are required to pass a barrier assessment prior to undertaking the Basic Parachute Course during Employment Training. The barrier assessment constitutes a Push Up test (40 for males, 30 for females) to a 2 second cadence, a Sit Up test (100) to a 3 second cadence, Heave test (8 over grasp heaves for males and 6 over grasp heaves for females), the Beep test (level 8) and a Rope Climb (8m for males, 4m for females).
