The Australian Army employs male and female qualified
physiotherapists in Army Hospitals and Medical Centres. These
officers form part of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps.
Main Job Functions:
During your service you can expect a variety of employments. Your postings could include:
- Physiotherapy duties in a static hospital caring for pre and post operative cases;
- Physiotherapy of patients in a field environment;
- Rehabilitation of patients after extensive surgery or illness;
- Sports medicine physiotherapy, (ie sports injuries management and prevention), to units and Army sports; and
- Depending on postings, some physiotherapists may deploy with their units to remote areas.
