You will undertake the Regimental Officer Basic Course in the first 12 months of your appointment. The course is a six week residential course conducted at the Army Logistic Training Centre in the Albury/Wodonga region. For Reserves the course is modularised and can be completed in two, three week modules.
AA Psych Corps provides supervised on-the-job training and experience (internship) that is recognised by the NSW Psychologists Registration Board for registration as a psychologist.
Normally after two years supervised experience, provided performance has been satisfactory, a psychologist in the Corps will be promoted to the rank of Captain. Promotion to higher ranks is based on merit and competitiveness with peers and may require about six years experience in current rank prior to consideration.
