RACT Logistic Officer Basic Course: 9 Weeks
Following graduation from Royal Military College, you will attend the Logistic Officer Basic Course at the Army Logistic Training Centre (ALTC), Bandiana, Victoria. This course prepares graduates in their role as a logistics officer and includes a special to Corps phase. This phase teaches officers the fundamentals of the RACT and prepares them for their role as a troop commander. Further specialist courses will follow depending on the type of unit you are posted to. eg. Water Transport, Terminal, Air Dispatch or Movements.
Officers can also expect to complete a Logistic Officer Intermediate Course of 8 weeks and a Logistic Officer Advanced Course of 5 weeks, also both conducted at the ALTC. These courses will expand on the fundamentals of logistics and RACT operations to meet the needs of officers employed in demanding appointments and succeeding ranks.
RACT officers will also complete non specialist career development courses designed for all Army officers.
Officer (Reserve)
Logistic Officer Basic Course: 2 Weeks (plus on-the-job-training)
You will attend the Logistic Officer Basic course at the Army Logistic Training Centre in Wodonga, Victoria.
Further specialist courses will follow depending on the type of unit you are posted to. eg. Water Transport, Movement planning, or Air Dispatch - which can include parachuting.
Further RACT and logistic training is required as you are promoted.
