The main weapon on the ASLAV is a chain driven, electrically powered gun. It is capable of firing at 200 rounds per minute, accurate at ranges up to 3km. Unlike most automatic firearms, it uses an electric motor rather than gas or recoil to actuate its firing system, giving it much better reliability than comparable systems.
The ASLAV is fully amphibious, not only capable on land it can be driven in the water by shrouded propellers at the rear of the vehicle. Equipped with its thermal imaging, gun sights and night vision systems, it is as effective during night operations as daytime.
