The AFL Army Award 2009

These are the Army's core values and what defines a great sports icon.

Last year's winner was Richmond's Brett Deledio

To celebrate these qualities, the Army is sponsoring the 2009 AFL Army Award. Three exceptional plays are selected each week by our expert team of AFL analysts and posted on this site every Tuesday after the weekend's games for you to vote for your favourite play. The player who you think best represents these skills in a single play during the home and away season will win.

Who could be a better ambassador for this award than former Kangaroos great Glenn Archer who has won the Robert Rose Award for Most Courageous Player six times in nine years. This is more than any other player!

These characteristics are not limited to the football field, if you think you possess these traits you should check out the array of Army careers available.
