As a Navy officer, initial training takes place at the Royal Australian Naval College (RANC), HMAS CRESWELL. Located in beautiful Jervis Bay on the New South Wales coast, the college is surrounded by a National Park and quiet, clean, white sandy beaches with running tracks along the coastline. There are four departments; The School of Survivability & Ship Safety, The Beecroft Weapons Range, Kalkara Flight and an administrative support division. Army Officers attend the Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon, Australia's finest leadership college. At RMC, you’ll receive world-class training and build on your character and resilience. If you're selected as an officer in the Air Force, your initial training will take place at Officers' Training School (OTS) in East Sale, Gippsland, Victoria. Leadership forms the core of your training but you'll also study ground defence, management, operations, communication, Air Force values, and military law. You'll get to participate in field exercises that also teach you weapon handling, fieldcraft, camouflage and concealment.
