ADF Graduate careers

As an Australian Defence Force (ADF) graduate you begin your career from day one, by becoming an officer in the Navy, Army or Air Force. You are trained to manage and lead like-minded people right from the start and will receive chances for promotion early on.

You'll receive further training and post graduate study opportunities while you're in the ADF, so you can go as far as you want to in your career. Apply the skills you've acquired in a variety of ways, such as making a difference through essential humanitarian projects, working with state-of-the-art equipment, or taking on exciting challenges overseas. Your commitment to the ADF will depend on your qualifications and the Service you join.

Salary

As a member of the ADF, you'll be earning a first year starting salary package of approximately $70,000p.a. to $96,000p.a. depending on your degree qualifications. You'll also receive free medical and dental care and subsidised accommodation.

Post graduate university studies

Opportunities are available to further your qualifications with post graduate study. The ADF will pay your HELP fees (formerly known as HECS contributions) whilst you complete your post graduate degree.

The ADF offers amazing opportunities to
travel around Australia and overseas, on peacekeeping and emergency aid
missions that make a genuine difference
to people's lives.
