ADFA has such an impressive range of sporting, social and service facilities, you can find everything you need without stepping off the campus grounds.
Sporting facilities at ADFA are wide-ranging and world class and you are free to use them during any of your spare time. There's a state-of-the-art indoor sports centre, which houses squash courts, a gymnasium, weights room and swimming pool. Within the grounds of the Academy are around 23 hectares of sporting fields for cricket, football, rugby union, rugby league, netball, squash, tennis and others. You can also use the golf course at the Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon. The Academy boat shed is located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, Yarralumla. The facility houses rowing sculls, sailing and racing dinghies, canoes and a number of sailboards along with two Endeavour 24 yachts, which are moored permanently on the lake.

Adjacent to your accommodation is the Academy Cadets' mess, which is the largest Officers' mess in Australia and is designed to cater for up to 1,200 Officer Cadets and Midshipmen. The Cadets' mess is the centre of social life for Officer Cadets and Midshipmen. It's a great place to meet up with your mates and relax over a meal. The mess comprises kitchens, dining areas, bars, recreation rooms and a shop.
