Australian Defence Force (ADF) graduates begin their careers from day one as an officer in the Navy, Army or Air Force. You will be trained to manage and lead like-minded people, with chances for promotion early on.
You’ll receive further training and support throughout your career, so you can take it as far as you want to go. Apply the skills you’ve acquired in a variety of ways, such as making a difference through essential humanitarian projects, or taking on exciting challenges overseas with state-of-the-art equipment.
As a member of the ADF, you’ll be earning a first year starting salary package of approximately $69,000p.a to $94,000p.a. depending on your degree qualifications. You’ll also receive free medical and dental care and subsidised accommodation.
Opportunities are available to further your qualifications with post graduate qualifications. The ADF will pay your HELP fees (formerly known as HECS contributions) whilst you undertake your post graduate degree.
The ADF offers amazing opportunities to travel around Australia and overseas to make a genuine difference to people’s lives, including emergency aid missions.
Your commitment to the ADF depends on your qualifications and the service you join. ADF members enjoy a great work-life balance, with a selection of sporting clubs to play for, fitness training that’s part of the working day, strong job security and role diversity with a variety of career paths to choose from.
All the training you receive in the ADF will have leadership elements, so you’ll be learning skills, working and receiving qualifications that make you highly employable both in the ADF and the civilian world. As a member of the ADF you’ll work with some of the most advanced technology and equipment available, adding to your value as an employee.
The ADF is the largest employer of graduates in Australia. We offer over 50 different career positions to graduates.
