Aerospace Engineering Officers Application Course - 12 Weeks
The Aerospace Engineering Officers Application Course (AEOAC) is undertaken at HMAS ALBATROSS located near Nowra, NSW. The course covers most aspects of engineering applicable to aircraft in operation with the Navy. The course also covers major aspects relating to aircraft maintenance, aircraft administration procedures and airworthiness theory and principles.
Once these courses have been completed, officers are sent to one of four operational squadrons to commence consolidation training to prepare them for future operational postings. During this phase of training all Aersopace Engineer Officers (AEROs) progress their Engineers Australia (EAust) Competency Journal, with the future possibility of achieving CPEng status.
The AEOAC is tailored to suit both Weapons Electrical Aircraft (WEA) and Aeronautical Engineering (AE) officers. However, depending on what subjects the officer has studied at university, they may be awarded Recognised Prior Learning in certain modules.
