ADF Medical Technician Course
Duration: 78 Weeks
Location: Army School of Health, Army Logistic Training Centre, Albury Wodonga Military Area, VIC.
This course is designed to train sailors in the provision of basic and advanced medical care for ADF personnel which covers the following subjects:
- psycho-social sciences, biological sciences, general nursing;
- anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology;
- assisting in minor and major surgical procedures;
- emergency and pre-hospital, outpatient and in patient care;
- health services administration (documentation, both medical and administrative);
- health promotion of ADF personnel; and
- advanced emergency life support skills, enhanced medical procedures and includes clinical placements within both military and civilian clinical environments.
Consolidation
A consolidation period of 12 months post Basic Medical Technician training is carried out in all RAN Health facilities both ashore and at sea.
