Recognition of Prior Learning
Other Ranks (Non Technical) (Reserve)
Candidates who hold civilian qualifications can have those qualifications mapped against the current NPC Civil Accreditations.
In order to achieve this process and establish the qualifications and competencies of personnel wishing to join the NR as an NPC, there is a requirement for these applicants to complete an RPL / RCC application; a full career history including certificates of all relevant courses and qualifications will be required - certified true copies are mandatory. The RPL / RCC is a complex process but a mandatory requirement in order to establish competencies and proficiencies in compliance with Australian Training Standards; unfortunately a resume or scanned documents will not suffice. This will allow the Defence Police Training Centre (DPTC) to accurately assess an applicant's qualification levels and identify the most suitable training required upon successful entry to the NR.
Once an RPL / RCC application is assessed by DPTC the applicant's required training / courses will be identified. Upon the Defence Force Recruiting Centre receiving all relevant documentation from the applicant, and assuming that all entry requirements are complied with, the applicant will receive 'Terms of Conditions' which will include an offer of rank, seniority and required training to be undertaken.
Each application is dealt with separately and on its own merits.
