Graduate
Qualified Nursing Officer Graduates are appointed at Pay Grade 2 with a salary of $47,702 per annum ($1,830 per fortnight).*
Pay Grade 3 is achieved on completion of your Primary Qualification comprising of military and health training which is required for sea service. Pay Grade 5 may subsequently be achieved upon completion or approval of a postgraduate specialist qualification.
You will also receive Uniform Allowance of $682 per annum ($26 per fortnight) to assist maintaining uniforms in good order and condition.
As well, Service Allowance at the rate of $10,672 per annum ($409 per fortnight) is paid to all members (except for certain trainee categories) below the rank of Commander or equivalent. The allowance compensates a member for the unique requirements that service life may impose on an individual and his or her family.
Note: A higher salary may be granted in recognition of relevant work experience. This will be discussed at the Officer Selection Board.
Salary will continue to increase based on rank and the number of years of service completed in that rank. Refer to the Salary Scales.

Undergraduate
4 years to graduation: $21,146 per year ($811 per fortnight).*
3 years to graduation: $25,213 per year ($967 per fortnight).*
2 years to graduation: $31,719 per year ($1,217 per fortnight).*
In final year of training: $33,753 per year ($1,295 per fortnight).*
Uniform Maintenance Allowance at a rate of $419 per annum ($16 per fortnight) is paid to assist members to maintain an approved scale of uniforms in good order and condition. This increases to $682 per annum ($26 per fortnight) after commissioning.
Salary after completion of undergraduate sponsorship will continue to increase based on rank and the number of years of service completed in that rank. Refer to the Salary Scales for further details.
Trainees with dependants may be entitled to Trainee's Dependant Allowance which is paid to enable trainees with dependants to receive a salary not less than $36,658 per year ($1,406 per fortnight) while training. Conditions apply. Speak to your Careers Counsellor for details.

Graduate (Reserve)
Members of the Reserve on part-time service are paid at a daily rate of pay which is tax-free. Salary will continue to increase based on rank and the number of years of service completed in that rank.
While undergoing Initial Officer Training, degree qualified trainees receive $80.45 a day. Daily rates of pay for Reserve Force Nursing Officers commence at $140.20.
In addition to your salary, a Service Allowance of $11.01 per day is payable to compensate for the unique demands of Reserve Service.
