Job Details
Graduate, Graduate (Reserve)
Training Systems (TS) officers provide support to Navy's large, diverse and complex adult education and vocational training mission. As 'training specialists' TS officers can expect to be employed in four broad areas:
- management of training and assessment systems;
- development of training and assessment systems;
- consultancy on education and training; and
- quality assurance of training and assessment.
Junior TS officers will be involved in such tasks as:
- identifying individual competency needs to meet Navy's operational capability requirements;
- designing and developing training and workplace assessment; and
- evaluating training and workplace assessment processes.
TS officers have very limited opportunities to undertake 'train-the-trainer' roles in the field.
As they progress, TS officers can expect to be more involved in the co-ordination and management of Navy's training effort. Co-ordination and management will frequently involve training provided under contract by civilian training organisations.
